PARENTAL ALIENATION is specifically targeted at the other parent but also denigrates and alienates all extended family members. According to the Domestic Violence(DV) signs, symptoms and definition, this should be considered DV in the form of psychological abuse.
Just as when a physically or sexually abusive perpetrator tries to isolate and alienate the victim from other family members and social outlets, this can be applied in the case of PAS. PAS can lead to both physical and sexual abuse.
Similarly, as in DV when a perpetrator uses intimidation, coercion, threats, emotional abuse, minimizing, denying and blaming, this also is prevalent in PAS, adding further proof that this form of alienation is DV dangerous.
